As mentioned in previous weeks the scheduled Air Canada first flight between Ecuador and Canada is now a reality. December 9th was the date selected from Air Canada Rouge to start this new route Quito–Toronto–Quito that will be operated three times weekly on a regular basis and will be the first non-stop service between these two countries. The new route will depart Toronto at 11:45 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, arriving in Quito the next day at 6:30 a.m. It will leave Quito at 8:30 a.m. on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving back in Toronto at 3:05 p.m.
During the opening ceremony at the international gate of the Quito´s airport several tourism professionals and Tour Operators as Galagents were part of this event including Mrs. Rosy Prado de Holguin, Minister of Tourism of Ecuador, Mr. Andrew O´Brian, General Manager of Quiport and Mrs. Silvie Bédard, Canadian Ambassador.
All of them agreed that with this new route the number of travelers making the two ways flight will increase significantly due to the very good relationship between Ecuador and Canada that is stronger than ever. These comercial flights will include also a cargo ship that will benefit the business commerce that both countries have been working in very good terms with more than 10 years of excelent relationship.
This new route is part of other frequencies that over 2019 started coming to Ecuador as part of increasse the connectivity for travelers to discover all the wonders this country has to offer including The Galapagos Islands Cruises.
A certificate was delivered to the first travelers that were part of this inaugural route, as a record of
having flwon on Air Canada´s first direct flight.
