Last Monday, October 28, the world premiere of the Galapagos documentary, Hope for the Future, was released. The screening took place within the agenda of the 60th anniversary of scientific research in the archipelago of the Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF).
The launch of the film was held in Amsterdam with more than 800 guests and was attended by the Dutch royal family and European celebrities. The premiere in Ecuador took place in Puerto Ayora-Galapagos, on November 9th continuing in Quito, on December 12th.

This film was directed by Evert van den Bos, a Dutch filmmaker that wants to show the work currently being done in Galapagos by the CDF.
The film also shows with the future of the CDF, the efforts of the Galapagos National Park and the importance of continuing to support the conservation of the archipelago. The movie has been funded by the donation of the Dutch Comon Foundation to promote conservation work in this unique site considered UNESCO World Heritage.
Galapagos, Hope for the Future, also presents the work of several projects that the CDF carries out with the support and permits of the Galapagos National Park, including marine bird research, shark studies, interdisciplinary analysis of fisheries in the Archipelago, migration of the giant tortoises, the Galapagos Verde 2050 project, among others.
In Galapagos, the documentary was premiere on November 9th with attendance of the members of the General Assembly of the CDF and local and national authorities, the film was screened free of charge to the community on November 10 and 11, at the Miguel Cifuentes Community Center.
In Quito, the audiovisual will premiere at the Capitol Theater, during a private event, on December 12. Afterwards, it will be screened in several cinemas in the country from January 2020.
